An Artec EVA scanner allowed the scanning of a physical object which would be interpreted into a 3D digital model. These can form the basis for digital craniofacial reconstructions. For instance a skull from an archaeological site or a police investigation can be scanned to create a digital model, on which the soft tissues can be sculpted in FreeForm. The result can create an impression of an identity for the skull which may aid in recognition and identification of a missing individual.
